  • Welcome to the night vale
  • The cryptid keeper
  • The NoSleep podcast

What do you enjoy about the podcast mentioned?

Hello from the magic tavern is a fantasy and its unique and funny as it is about a dude called Arnie who fell through a dimensional portal behind a Burger King into the fantastical land of Foon, but the catch is he still gets a slight Wi-Fi signal so he uploads weekly podcast from the tavern the Vermillion Minotaur. Welcome to the night vale is a small desert community in the town of Night Vale where every conspiracy theory is true.

what were the subjects?

what elements of the podcast do you remember, the interviews, conversation, music, sound effects or something else?

Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to films, videos, and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality. These reproduced sounds, named after sound-effects artist Jack Foley, can be anything from the swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and breaking glass. The sound designers has the job to create a space that seems real, they will make ambience as birds chirping in the background or even lasers.

The Foley artist records sounds that the sound designers can use.

Music is typically the last post productions.

Types of microphones

1) Lavalier

See the source image

It is a small microphone used for interviews, theatre and short films, because they focus on the voice of the speaker and limit the ambience sound.

With this type of microphone we need to be careful of the surrounding areas where it rests.

For example:

  • it can be anatomical
  • or costume based

Items around the neck and chest may interfere with the sound being picked up by the lavalier.

Zoom H1

Zoom H1 is a sound/ voice recorder that allows us to capture sound/audio from a conversation or interview. This device is helpful in podcast and Foley sound.

The H1 device is hand held, it can also be placed in pockets, or similar. It is the responsibility of the crew to hide the cables and the recording devices from the camera, specially in short films.

The zoom h1 works well with common headphones and microphones (3.5 jack/ mini jack)

ZOOM H4

The zoom h4 is similar to the h1 however its bigger and twice the cost.

Mics on set

It is the responsibility of the crew to hide the cables and recording devices from the camera

If you are hiding wires in clothing do not touch your cast, ask them to hide it for you.
